camp started at last

Opening ceremony is over and the teachers are teaching, at last. They were so glad to finally meet their students and the Chinese assistants. The overall number of students is about 125, making about 15 or 16 per class, divided into 8 classes after a lengthy testing session last evening.
Many of the students are proficient in English and the spirit of cooperation is encouraging. Jim and Jodie were delighted to find that two of their students from ‘05 are here.
Sarah G has the red team and her assistants are Christa and David. Amanda and Alain have the orange team with Bram. Cristine has the yellow team with Anthony and Daniel. Heather has the green team with Aaron Money and Sarah A. Kendra has the blue team with Jack and Abigail. Dave and Carol have the purple team with Aaron M. John & Toni have the pink team with James. Melissa has the grey team with Mike and Valorie.
All the teachers have done a great job decorating their rooms and Tom is doing a good job coordinating all of the confusion associated with the beginning of camp. The feedback is that the Chinese are delighted with what’s happening so far.
There are bound to be glitches along the way but the teachers have a great attitude and we’re thankful.
This evening the Americans will provide the entertainment with skits, songs and who knows what else.
Thanks for tuning in. Keep us in your thoughts.
We will try to post a group photo taken at the Forbidden City soon. J&J
