As you can see from the above we are all having a great time. We are now one week into this camp and looking forward to the next week. Not sure what is in store for us be we know we serve a Boss who has it all under control and will not leave us without provision.
We had a wonderful time on Sunday meeting with Chinese believers at a sponsored meeting place. All of the hymns sung were recongnizeable. We sang the English words as they sang the Chinese words. It was a brief glimpse of the future. We were warmly welcomed by the body there and He is moving in China. 3 services with about 400 -500 at each service. Just one of many meeting places in this city.
We made it off the plane with no fevers. Ask your loved one about the surrealistic experience of the temperature taking gestapo which came aboard masked, goggled, gowned, with temperature taking guns in hand. When we came down the walkway to enter immigration and customs there was high tech equipment shooting some type of radar at us which detected those with a suspect temperature. Only one of us was marked as HOT. Ask Jessica about being the “Hottest” member of our team. Se was taken to 5 minute quarantine—mask, temperature taken several time. Quite an experience. Then again right before we went through immigration there was electronic equipment to register unusually high temps but we all made it through that. CRAZY!! We could feel you remembering us during that time.
The climate here is amazing. The temperature has not varied by 10 degrees from the time we have arrived. So far it has been dry—raining only a couple of times in the early morning hours. Seems always to be a breeze when outside or near a window. Our loding is very nice. We are in a hotel that has been open only for about a month. We are their first large group and I think we are testing their resources—towels and toilet paper especially. Showers and western toilets are a treat. I am sure you will see many pics.
The students we have come to teach are wonderful. Their behavior is a compliment to Mary our host who is their primary teacher and who has a servants heart which has taught us many things. They are respectful and desirous to learn English. They range in age from 8 to 21.
Many of them comment on how much they feel loved. Now to help them know the source of that love. Week one has been good—they see what we want them to know the source of. Lift us up during week two as we draw them toward the source.
This is an amazing experience that we wish each of you could share wit us. There is no way to describe to you the depth and breadth of what we learn each day about our Boss, ourselves as servants, the Chinese and their culture, and the power of the HS. Please consider serving with BTW next summer!!!!!
I will try get on here again this weekend or early next week. Time is just so precious here. I am often torn between communication with you and serving my 29 team members and students. I guess you sense who usually wins out!! Thanks for understanding.
Women an nimem!!! (We love all of you)
Xie Xie Nimen (Thanks to all of you)
