Kunming Camp Update
Family and Friends,
Sorry about no blog for the past few days. We actually typed a lengthy blog yesterday but it did not transmit. Who knows for what reason. I tried to retrieve it to resend it but to no avail. I apologize for loosing the messages your loved ones sent you I have asked them to rewrite today.
Sadness has come to our camp with the announcement this morning of the death of the mother of Chris and Nancy and the great grandmother of Carson. Please remember them as they begin the grieving process so far from home. We know they want to be half a world away with their family. Yet they want to be here to serve the students they have come to love. We have become family here as well and as the book says when one among us hurts we all hurt. Thanks for taking this burden to the Boss.
Last night we had a wonderful time at the orphanage. We took the birthday party to them. How wonderful to see how He strips away all worries about appearance and how He had our focus on the children. Here we were 30 adults and young people dancing the bunny hop, the macarena, the Hokey Pokey and Chicken Dance. There were more than a few tears in our eyes to see how fast the chilren picked up the dances and the smiles on their faces. There was some singing—ended with singing happy birthday in English and Chinese. Remember the work at the orphanage; there is great need there.
Two more days of teaching here. Then our closing ceremony will be on Friday afternoon. Then packing, and preparation for a few days in Beijing. I do not know if I will be able to blog tomorrow or not.
Here are some messages to you:
