Day Four Shoutouts From Nan Dai He

Last night fourteen more students arrived and we welcomed them with one and a half hour of dancing.  The students learned and competed (by class) for the best dancing class.  Class five won and Tim was selected the best dancer from Class 3.  Today he has a new name given…Dance King.  Jack and Bess even showed off their expertise doing the twist and the hip hop.  Wish you could have been there!  Jack lost four pounds dancing.

Here are some more shoutouts from the great team at Nan Dai He:

Bess sends her love to her family and friends.  Guess what…I don’t have a roommate.  However, I do have my wonderful fan and it doesn’t snore! :) :)   I think my room has become the room where all the gals gather — dry hair, take showers, borrow plastic spoons for their oatmeal and share our laughs of the day!  I’ve been given a new title…”the go to girl”.  Jack is jealous because the gals are always in my room…ha! :)

Of course, I think I have the best class in the camp.  They are so kind and eager to learn.  Corena is one of the girls and she speaks fluent English.  She asked Jack and I to be her grandparents.  She is a beautiful singer and she is planning to sing a solo at our talent show on Sunday night.

Guess what Tracey…there is another David in China that is wild and crazy too.  He is in Anna Leigh’s room.  He didn’t have an English name and she named him after your David.   We have pictures of him doing the chicken dance.  He traveled twenty plus hours on the train to get to our camp.

Asher Dasher, Johnson gave me your message last night…thanks girl!  I have talked to Allen in Shanghai by phone and also met Frank a Chinese student I had in Shanghai.  Frank is here at Nan Dai He and is my assistant in my classroom.

I love you all so much and miss you!  All is WELL!!   Bess

A song from Charlotte:

Away in far China, in my lonely hard bed

After I teach English, I lay down my tired head

Where you are today, please remember me

My heart is in two places, both here and with thee

(Then sing regular refrain to Away In a Manger)
