Day Five Park Day at Nan Dai He
Hello family and friends,
Because the beach season is really big in China in July, we took Friday off and visited a large amusement park and garden with the students. The main attractions were the sand hills where we slid down large sand dunes into a big pool below. Of course, the background was the Yellow Sea, filled with lots of parasailers, swimmers and beach goers. The Lotus Gardens were also a big hit as well as the many trails and train rides through the huge park. There were lots of Chinese tourists who wanted to take pictures with us and share the joy that we brought to the park. We even found some popcorn, shish ke bob sticks of unknown meats, and Chinese Cokes. Of course, they tell us everything is chicken. Woody and Chris visited the camp on Friday night and we enjoyed a wonderful Chinese meal wilth chicken and peppers, lots of mushrooms and of course, rice. They even fixed ginger soup to keep everyoine healthy.
The views at the park were spectacular, especially the beautiful Choi-filled lotus garden lakes and the wide expanse of the Yellow Sea beaches. Some of us also took big steps against fears as we walked on the rope bridges that spanned some of the hills. We get back to our regular schedule tomorrow. See you then,
Jack
